No Shortage of Shocks at Fight Club X
SEMINOLE, FL - Full Throttle management promised a memorable show for the last event of the year, and Fight Club X certainly delivered! The night was highlighted by title changes in three out of four divisions, as well as a shocking casket match.
The first champ to fall was also the newest, as the Dynasty's Katalina Perez lost the Ladies Championship to Ava Storie in her first defense. Storie won the triple threat match by submission when Lindsay Snow dove to the outside, taking out Perez's Dynasty teammates, but also leaving her two opponents alone in the ring. Storie becomes the first two-time champion in the history of the division, having won the inaugural championship in February of 2017.
The next change occurred in the semi-main event, when FTPW Heavyweight Champion Samuel Shaw and challenger Shannon Moore had traded one huge move after another to find themselves both on the mat and locked in a stalemate. That's when Richie Rich Rampage trophy holder Barrington Hughes picked his spot. Hughes, who defeated Johnny Knockout earlier in the night to retain his trophy, made the title match into a poorly-matched triple threat, and quickly tapped Shaw out to win the championship.
Finally, to close the evening, the longest-reigning champion on the roster faced long odds once again. Golden Challenge Champion Saieve Al Sabah was tasked with running a five-man gauntlet. First Al Sabah pinned Mikey Spandex. Then Markos Espada. Then he had to take on his own blood, Treehouse Lee. After a tentative start, the two brothers laid into each other with a dazzling display of athleticism and skill. Saieve finally rolled Lee up after feigning injury, but the three tough matches had definitely taken their toll.
That's when the final entrant, Rex Bacchus, was jumped on his way to the ring and beaten down by Dead Man Circus' Damian King and Jester Yorick. King and Yorick, who fell short in their tag title challenge against Rob Terry and Deimos earlier in the night, took out their frustration on Bacchus for several minutes. Then Chuckles the Clown entered the gauntlet and finished off the champ.
This capped off a banner night for Chuckles, who also won his casket match with Mazaka in a very violent affair.
The Full Throttle landscape has certainly been shaken up as we approach 2019. What's next?
